They Stayed. Help Them Keep Caring.png

From the Heart of Gaza, while the world watched the war unfold, this group of healthcare workers in Gaza made a different choice.

They stayed.

They stayed inside hospitals stripped of electricity.

They stayed inside medical tents after wards collapsed.

They stayed with patients while their own families were displaced.

They stayed because leaving was never an option.

Meet the medical professionals we support with this initiative.

Why We Created This Initiative

Today these doctors nurses, paramedics, and dentists continue to serve their communities under unimaginable conditions. Often without salaries and with limited equipment facing frequent displacement and constant danger they treat patients who have nowhere else to go.

Healthcare is not just their profession it is their responsibility.

We started this Giving Circle because financial insecurity should never distract from saving lives. By supporting these medical professionals, we want to ensure they don’t have to worry about buying food for themselves and their families, allowing them to focus entirely on delivering essential care.

A Giving Circle is a collective where donors surround individuals to support them both mentally and financially. We work together to channel resources directly and transparently to those in need. This model draws from the African philosophy of Ubuntu: "I am because we are."

Your Support Means More Than Relief

When you support a healthcare worker, your impact ripples far beyond one household.

Your help keeps a clinic open when the lights go out.

You help a doctor treat another patient despite exhaustion.

You help a nurse care for newborns in precarious conditions.

You help a family survive so they can return to saving lives tomorrow.

You are helping preserve the very idea of hope in a place where it is hardest to find.

Our Promise to You

We know that trust is earned, not asked for. That is why we are committed to radical honesty and total transparency. When you donate, we will regularly share:

  • Direct Updates: Stories and reports straight from the field in Gaza.
  • Medical Impact: Details on the clinics, tents, and services kept running by your support.
  • Human Faces: The stories of the specific healthcare workers and families you help.
  • Financial Clarity: The total amount of donations is transferred to this group of healthcare workers, updates will be given monthly.

Questions and answers

Who are we? We are the medical professionals from Gaza which are supported by this initiative together with a group of volunteers from the Netherlands. This group stands with us for already one year. First through another initiative and now through this new initiative. The foundation Khashkhash will be established soon to provide in transferring the financial support to Gaza, for now this will be done by one of the volunteers.
How is the donated money transferred to the medical professionals in Gaza? The donated money is collected monthly from Whydonate. One of the volunteers transfers this to the medical professionals in Gaza using either a bank transfer or a transfer using crypto. This last option is very quick and the receiver can put it into a bank account straight away. So the crypto is only used for the transfer of the donations.
How much money is needed to support the medical professionals? We are supporting eight households, comprising 13 medical professionals and their families. To ensure they can meet their most basic needs, each household requires between €1,250 and €2,000 per month. Our monthly target therefore is **€12,000**.
What is Stichting KhashKhash? Stichting KhashKhash is a Dutch foundation that will be founded formally very soon. Its mission is to support and strengthen private humanitarian initiatives for Gaza, such as this Giving Circle. Once the foundation has a bank account, donations will flow through it, and Stichting KhashKhash will handle the transfers directly to the doctors in Gaza. We are also working toward ANBI status (Public Benefit Organization), which will allow Dutch donors to benefit from tax deductions on their contributions.
